My Own Definition: The physical motion between once place and another.
Words to Describe Movement: Fast, slow, blurry, run, walk, jump.
Four Annotated Pictures:
This photograph depicts a teddy bear on what appears to be a roundabout, which is in motion. We can assume this roundabout is in motion, due to the blurs evident in the background. We have learned to understand that blurring in a photograph means that something or someone has moved in it, and the camera has captured the lines of light.
Once again, we can see from this photograph that motion is taking place due to the blurs and sharpness in certain places. We can also see an example of what I said about capturing light, from the light source in the background, and the fact that the whiteness of the wheels and costume are more noticeable than any other colour/shade.
Even in black and white photographs, such as the one above, movement can be captured through sharpness and blurring. This confirms that colour is not required in order to show movement in photography.
Here is an example of a photograph that has managed to portray movement without any blurring. We can tell this dog is moving due to the fact that there are many signs to show that it's in motion, such as the snow spraying around him as it hits the ground, and how it's fur is blown back, and how it is in midair.
